Continuing Education
Continuing Education requirements begin with the first full year of Professional Active membership in AMTA. A member is required to complete 48 clock hours of continuing education every 4 years or provide NCBTMB or NCCAOM-ABT certification and expiration date in order to renew as a Professional Active member of AMTA.
Educational programs used to fulfill this requirement must meet the following general description: "an organized education experience directly related to massage therapy, capable direction, and qualified instruction." These may be experiential learning, theoretical or research in nature. Examples of acceptable organized educational programs are listed below.
It is your responsibility as a member to find an appropriate continuing education course. This offers you the greatest flexibility in choosing a course or courses that meet your needs.
Once you have completed an educational program, visit the following link http://www.amtamassage.org/education/conedreq.html and click simple form to update your ceu accomplishments. Of course, you can also call the National Office at 847-764-0123 to submit your hours.
